The Nixon-Smiley High School Band earned a UIL Spring Sweepstakes trophy this past Monday, April 3.  The band performed three concert selections and were awarded 1st divisions by all three concert judges.  In sight reading, there was a split of a one, one, two, from the judges, but the overall ranking was a 1st division.  The last time the Nixon-Smiley High School band earned such a rating was in 2007, with Mr. Neighbors.  The directors are very proud of the hard work the students put in to earn their high marks.

Twirler/guard/drum major auditions will be on May 4.
