Tuesday night the Nixon-Smiley boys basketball teams traveled to take on the Ro-Hawks from Randolph The JV came up on the short end of a 41- 25 deficit. The Mustangs were led in scoring by freshman Kade Dixon, sophmore Joseph Humphries and sophmore Daylon Perales. Each of them scored 7 points respectively. The game was close throughout, but unfortunately Randolph was able to extend the lead at the end. The Varsity played a hard fought game, but came up short 57 - 46. The Mustangs were led in scoring by senior Zac Perez with 16 points and senior Jesse Riojas with 15 points. Nixon led over Randolph at the end of the 1st quarter 12 - 11. However, we do strongly encourage anyone who wants to provide a gift or card to our Seniors to work with our local merchants who set up Senior Registries. Due to the expected inclement weather, NSCISD is disappointed to announce that we have canceled our Trunk or Treat Festival scheduled for Wednesday, October 29th. We appreciate all who planned to be a part of this event and apologize for having to make this difficult decision. However, we believe it is in the best interest of everyone to stay inside where it is dry and warm. We look forward to resuming this tradition next year.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FUNDRAISER National Honor Society is having its last fundraiser this Saturday at DQ in Nixon from 9 am - 2pm. It's a carwash folks. Bring your dirty, bug-smeared cars out to get clean and support the scholarship fund while you cool off with a blizzard. Some of the proceeds will go to buying flags for the graves of soldiers on Memorial Day. If you don't need a carwash stop by and drop off flags or donate money. Every dollar buys a flag. NHS members have tickets for sale at only $6 for a carwash. Thank you for your support!
