Welcome to the Library

Meet the Librarian

Mrs. Lankford

Mrs. Lauren Lankford is a graduate of Stockdale High School, and has lived in Wilson County almost all of her life. She is a wife, a mom to five fabulous kids, a grandma to two of the cutest grandchildren that ever lived, and has more dogs, cats, chickens, and goats than she should. Mrs. Lankford graduated cum laude from Texas Lutheran University with a bachelor's degree with English studies in 2007, and she has been teaching in some form ever since. In 2025, Mrs. Lankford graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas with a master's degree in library science and a school librarian's certificate. She feels that this makes her a certified nerd and is very proud of it!

Mrs. Lankford spent the past two years as the librarian and GT coordinator at La Vernia High School, and the nine years previous to that teaching Honors English and a few other things at La Vernia as well. She has taught 7th and 8th grade ELA and Reading, and taught sophomore and senior English at Canyon High School in New Braunfels.

Mrs. Lankford is very excited to be the Secondary Librarian at Nixon-Smiley CISD, and she looks forward to growing the library, and making it the most fun and fabulous place to be as a Mustang! Please feel free to email if you have any questions about our secondary library program.
