Vaccinations and Screenings All students enrolled at NSCISD must have proof of current immunizations prior to the school start date of 9/1/2020. This includes students enrolled in the remote online option. All students will be required to have vision, hearing and spinal screenings, including students enrolled in the remote online option. Screenings for off-campus students will be by appointment only in order to follow social distancing guidelines. Scheduling information will be posted as it becomes available. Please contact your campus nurse if you have questions.
The Nixon-Smiley Consolidated Independent School District will provide free breakfast and lunch to any child from 1-18 years old. The meals will be served from Wednesday, August 12th through Monday, August 31st. This service will be provided daily, Monday through Friday. There will be a grab and go option where the student and/or parent may pick up at the cafeteria – breakfast from 7:30 – 9:00 am and lunch from 11:00 – 1:00 pm. We will also deliver breakfast/lunch combo meals by bus as we did back in March, April, and May. Buses will leave the cafeteria at 10:00 am and will run the same bus (meal) routes stopping at the locations we used previously. If you are not familiar with the stop that is nearest your location, you may call Kathy Kahn at 830-582-1536 ext. 117. We hope this service is useful for our community while we transition to instruction beginning September 1, 2020.
NSCISD SHAC Adventure Race has been canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
On May 15th the meal delivery and pick up service will end. However, on June 8th, our normal summer service will begin with meals available for pick up at the Nixon Cafeteria. If your family is struggling to feed your children during the gap, please contact a campus principal.
