Families of NSCISD: Classes will resume as normal on Wednesday, September 25. There will be a “Boil Water Notice” for the City of Smiley. The District is aware of the notice and is prepared to safely operate under this notice. The cafeteria will adhere to notice while preparing safe meals for the staff and students at the Elementary campus and the DAEP campus. The water fountains will be taken out of service until the “Boil Notice” is lifted. Bottled water will be made available to our staff and students during this time. The District will continue to work with the City of Smiley to ensure that our students are provided with a safe and productive learning environment.
Elementary RISE is canceled.
Middle School football and cheer practice is canceled.
DAEP will remain on a normal schedule.
The HS Varsity Volleyball game will be played at the scheduled time.

ATENCIÓN FAMILIAS DE NSCISD: Debido a la pérdida de presión de agua en la ciudad de Smiley, nuestra escuela primaria está experimentando dificultades con la plomería. TODOS los estudiantes saldran más temprano. Los estudiantes de primaria saldrán a la 1:00 p.m., y los estudiantes de secundaria/preparatoria saldrán a la 1:20 p.m. Si su hijo toma el autobús, el horario de llegada será dos horas y treinta minutos antes de su horario normal de bajada. ATTENTION NSCISD FAMILIES: Due to the loss of water pressure in the city of Smiley our Elementary campus is experiencing plumbing difficulties. We will be releasing ALL students early. Elementary students will be released at 1:00 pm and middle/high school students will be released at 1:20 pm. If your child rides the bus, the bus drop-off time will be two hours and thirty minutes earlier than their normal drop-off time. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We are currently working with the city of Smiley to correct the problem. As of now, campuses will resume a regular school day tomorrow. If anything changes, we will let you know.
NS Families: Elementary, Middle, and High School progress reports go home today. Please check with your child for their progress report and any other important information that may be attached.
Today is the last day of in-person registration. If you are new to Nixon-Smiley, you must register your child in person today. If you are returning and need help, you can also come by and let us help you. We will be at the high school library from 10:30 - 5:30 PM.
Coffee and Training for Returning Substitute Teachers will be July 25th from 9-11 AM at the N-S High School Library. All substitutes must attend training before subbing in the 2024-2025 school year.
Registration is now open for returning students! Visit the Parent Portal to register your child between now and July 19th. All students must be registered by July 17th to start the first day of school. If you have any questions, please contact your child's campus.
