Nixon-Smiley CISD Families,
Due to the winter weather this weekend and out of an abundance of caution, the District will
have a two-hour delay to the start of school on Monday, January 26. School will begin two hours
late, which means the Elementary will start their day at 9:40, and the Middle and High schools
will begin at 9:50. Bus riders will be picked up two hours later than their normal pickup time.
The buses and buildings are ready to go, and we look forward to seeing your children tomorrow.
If something should change with the weather or road conditions, we will notify you as soon as
possible.

Intersession Letters went home today with students from 5th - 12th grade. Please check with your child. This letter will tell them if they have to come to school October 9th and 10th or not. If you have any questions, contact your child's campus (elementary students all must go to school).

Show off your writing, share your thoughts, and be a part of Nixon-Smiley history when you are published in the first edition of the new student literary magazine, Mustang Manuscript, coming in May! You can submit as many pieces as you'd like. Be creative. We can't wait to hear what you have to say! The submission link is on the library page, and submissions are now open!
