Last call for Chick-fil-A meal tickets!! The senior class is holding a Chick-fil-A meal fundraiser next Wednesday, October 13th. The meal will include one sandwich, a bottle of water, and a bag of chips. Cost is $10. You must have a ticket in order to pick up your meal. Meals will be handed out by drive-thru in front of the high school, 4:30-6:00pm. You may purchase a ticket from a senior class member or from Mrs. Newman in the high school office by this Friday. Thank you for supporting the NSHS Class of 2022!
FCA will be hosting Fields of Faith on October 13th at 6:30pm, located at the football field. We encourage you to come out and enjoy music, fellowship, and a guest speaker! This is a free event and open to everyone.
The next NSCISD Sub training is on Monday, October 4th, from 9:30 am - 12 pm at La Casita. Interested applicants should complete the online substitute application before the training. Make sure you bring your ID, Social Security card, and any other documents you might have (transcripts or certificates) to the training.
This past Monday (Sept 27) our Middle School Lady Mustangs took on the Lady Ro-Hawks. Our 7th grade Blue (B) and 7th grade Red (A) both won. The Blue team was led by Mariela Castillo Limon with her consistent serving and Dakota Flores with key passes. They won 25-20 and 30-29. The 7th grade red team was led by Grace Gomez with her all-around play and also Lee-nuh Pecina and Trinity Casas with their setting and passing. They won 25-18 and 25-13. Our 8th grade Blue (B) team split with Randolph each winning one game. The Lady Mustangs were led by Broolylen Hansen and Yizel Galvan. The 8th grade Red (A) team played well but fell short losing both games by the same score 25-16. Sadie Walden and Caliah Rodriguez both served well. The Lady Mustangs are again in action on Monday October 4th as they travel to our rival Stockdale up the road. Games begin at 5pm.

Nixon-Smiley CISD is hosting two Flu vaccine clinics this upcoming school year. The first clinic was yesterday and the second clinic will be held Wednesday, 9/22/2021 from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the Elementary campus in Smiley (exact location To Be Determined). Please respond and encourage others to respond to the Interest Survey that will be sent out at a later date. It will be important to mark which location you will attend, if you choose to get a Flu vaccine. There may be other immunizations available at those clinics (Shingles, Tetanus, Covid, Pneumonia, childhood required immunizations, etc.) depending on availability from the Pharmacy and Interest Survey responses. Both clinics will be available to staff, students and the public.
Our 7th and 8th grade Lady Mustangs traveled to Luling this evening. 7B came up just a little short 23-25 and 23-25 in a hard fought match. 8B was victorious 25-19 and 25-21. 7A won their match 25-20 and 25-18. 8A was ended the night victorious, as well, 25-12 and 26-24. The Lady Mustangs worked extremely hard this week in practice and it showed tonight in their performance. They competed extremely well and had a lot of grit and fight in them! The Middle School coaching staff is super proud of the Lady Mustangs! Our next competition will be Monday, September 20th, vs SA Cole in Nixon starting at 5:00. GO LADY MUSTANGS!!
